Extra Days

At various times, particularly in the NSW School Holidays, we may be open extra days. Precise up to date information regarding extra opening days is shown on the website’s front page as they approach.

Mobility Impaired Access

Mobility-impaired visitors have easy access to most of the site. However as the trams themselves were designed up to 120 years ago, access to the trams is somewhat restricted by their design. However, a platform is provided to ease access to trams and the Museum staff will assist wherever possible. We also recommend calling the museum beforehand so our staff can prepare accordingly for your visit.

Animals

No animals, aside from accredited guide dogs, are permitted on the grounds of the Museum or on the trams.

Parking

Parking is not permitted within the museum site on traffic days. The diagram below shows where nearby parking spaces are otherwise available. The closest parking is along Pitt Street between the museum and TAFE, however, parking along Rawson Ave is also close by. Should car travel not be a viable option, we recommend using public transport by alighting at Loftus Station on the T4 Illawarra line; right next door to the museum.
