Don’t miss our biggest day of the year: Sunday 28th February.
Commemorating Sydney’s last day of the Grand Era of Sydney trams, we present our Vintage Tramway Festival.
On this day, we will operate some
of our oldest electric trams, many of them usually sit quietly on view in our Display Hall, just waiting for this chance to get out
and offer passengers a ride as they did in the first half of the twentieth century.
Serious tram lovers mustn’t miss this opportunity to enjoy Sydney trams from the late 1890s to 1935 which will be on duty offering rides. These will include the small four wheel saloon types which heralded the beginning of electric trams.
Then, there’s a later model from the early 1900s returning our system to the toastrack style, which had been the mainstay of the steam hauled trams from 1879.
