Recent strong winds caused dead trees to fall onto the overhead just before TAFE Crossing, in one case a tree completely bent a bracket arm. With Sunday traffic operations just around the corner, the race was on to replace the bracket and reopen the line for ordinary service. So on Saturday 25th October, the overhead team banded together to remove the fallen trees from the line, and replace the bent bracket with a spare held on 99u. This work was finished by 3pm that afternoon, with the overhead measured and the line cleared for running trams again.
