Flashback: SPER activities between 1965-1972

After the official opening of the old RNP site as an operating tram museum on 13th March 1965, activities that sought to develop the site and the collection by the vastly growing number of museum volunteers continued, with many highlights occurring throughout the latter half of the 1960’s and into the 1970’s. As is the case today, many of these volunteers documented the activities and developments that took place, along with relevant offsite events such as infrastructure recovery and interstate tram tours. Whilst their photographs have been relatively easy to find online, it has only been very recently that film of these museum works has been able to be digitised and made available for public viewing. Some of this film, taken by museum member Peter Kahn, is now available to view on our YouTube channel, and is also included here along with a selection of photos previously available online or in old issues of Trolley Wire.
