Sydney Tramway Museum Events 2018
Sun 25th February – Sydney Vintage Tramway Festival
The Sydney Vintage Tramway Festival celebrates the heritage of Sydney’s wonderful tramway system, once among the largest tramways in the world.
We will be pulling out all the stops! Some of our oldest & rarest trams, dating back to early 1900’s will be putting their best wheels forward to give you a day to remember!
Fares for the Day are;
$20 – Adults
$15 – Concessions
$10 – Children (Under 5’s are Free)
$50 – Family (2 Adults & 2 Children. Additional Children are Free)
These fares are good for UNLIMITED Tram Rides and entry to our Display Hall.
*Please Note – ParkLink Single ride tickets will be unavailable on the day*
Tickets can be pre-purchased online . Bring the ‘print at home’ ticket with you on the day or have the code available on your ‘device’ for scanning by our gate conductors.
Sat 21st April – Sutherland Heritage Festival
Sun 19th August – 1940’s Day (incorporating 70th anniversary 1948 Enfield line closure)
It’s the 1940’s and Sydney is recovering from WWII. Sydney’s trams are under enormous pressure as shortages and rationing place a strain on public transport. Yet wartime and the years after are celebrated in music, at the movies and in fashion
Sat 25th August – SPER AGM (tentative subject to board requirements)
Sat 22nd September – SPER Annual Dinner
Sun 24th November – 60th Anniversary George St closures (22/11/1958)
A major loss to the Sydney Tramway network occurred on the 22 November 1958 when trams ceased running along George St and with it tramway services to Lilyfield, Leichhardt, Haberfield & Millers Point.
Sat 1st December – SPER Members Day & BBQ
A number of proposed joint activities with the Sydney Bus Museum:
Fri 16th February – Bus Museum members night Leichhardt.
Sun 11 March – Inner West Open Studios Tours. Bus museum has transport artists at the depot.
Sat 23 March – Royal Easter Show. Bus museum has been invited to display a bus.
Thu 19 Apr – School Holiday joint open day.
9 till 11 June – Transport Heritage Festival.
Sat 22 Sept – Our Annual Dinner – open to all members of the bus museum, street transport museums dinner.
Sun 18 Nov – Bus Museum 60th Anniversary closure of the Red Lines and Opening Leichhardt Bus Depot.
