Manuals and Schedules

This section contains manuals for operation of the Museum's exotic cars, that is, the non-Sydney and Brisbane cars. The cars described in this section are only to be operated by staff members who have received the requisite special training and passed the practical tests for these cars. Written instructions for Sydney and Brisbane cars are contained in the Tramway Operation Handbook, a hard copy of which is in the possession of all traffic members.

** A double asterisk indicates a very long file. Readers using dial-up connections are advised to carefully consider the wisdom of attempting to connect to the file so indicated as a blockage may occur and may require clearing by their Internet Service Provider.

Manuals for general maintenance and lubrication of trams, including Sydney and Brisbane cars plus overhead wiring maintenance and a specialised item of lifting equipment, are included in the first part of this section. There's also one on the point-of-sale program (POS) used in our bookshop.

Schedules, listing specific tasks which are required to be undertaken in maintainance and when they need to be performed, are listed in the second part of this section.
